Conscious Sedation

Here at Smiles Northwest, we understand many people just like you have concerns or anxieties related to dental treatment. While the exact cause of these anxieties may differ, the result is the same: you feel less than comfortable when receiving dental care. To us, that is simply unacceptable. Extensive dental care may be necessary, and ensuring your comfort and treatment ease is paramount, and treated as such.
Beaverton dentists, Dr. Montrose and Dr. Dotson are certified to provide conscious sedation. Their additional education and resulting capabilities in this important treatment modality ensure you are relaxed during your treatment process – from beginning to end.
Should you choose conscious sedation as part of your dental treatment plan, during your treatment you will be able to communicate with Dr. Montrose or Dr. Dotson, but with no anxiety, feeling almost as though you are in and out of a very comfortable sleep, and yet always conscious. You will be very relaxed during the procedure being performed, and, if you are like most Smiles Northwest patients, you will probably remember very little about the actual treatment
You are welcome to discuss conscious sedation with Dr. Montrose or Dr. Dotson. As you will learn from them, conscious sedation here at Smiles Northwest is easy, effective and can be counted on to put you at ease.
You will be given a mild sedative that is administered in pill form and will be instructed to take this shortly before your scheduled visit. Once at Smiles Northwest, Dr. Montrose and Dr. Dotson closely monitor you and your sedation and will provide you with any needed additional sedation before and during the treatment process.
Throughout your treatment process, you will be monitored with the entire dental team working to ensure you remain relaxed and safe. To achieve this, just enough sedation to keep you completely comfortable is administered.
Call Smiles Northwest to schedule your complimentary consultation with Dr. Montrose or Dr. Dotson and learn more about conscious sedation and how this important service can alleviate your anxieties and make your treatment process a comfortable experience.
